Living Vegetarian

by Loreal

There are a lot of different reasons people stop eating meat, but it can be difficult to be healthy during the transition. Living vegetarian is not easy.  I am 33 and a lacto ova vegetarian; I have never eaten chicken, fish or any kind, so I have a little bit of experience on this matter. Lacto ova vegetarians eat dairy and eggs (10 grams of fat each), so this helps with protein, but it’s not the only answer. Also you’ll want to limit intake of these items since animal by products contain a different kind of fat, the kind of find that makes you fat. Eat non and 1% low fat dairy and substitute egg whites, but whole eggs are complete protein and you shouldn’t eliminate the yolk entirely.

You will need to replace the protein you were getting from chicken, fish, and meat to feel good and stay healthy. Subsequently, I eat a lot of beans, nuts and tofu (the other white meat), and supplement it with a limited of vegetarian meat. A lot of people, women in particular eliminate essentials like nuts and eggs, because they are higher fat foods, but they are good fats and eating them in moderation is essential to good health. Everyone should eat a lot of vegetables and fruits, but these are a main stay for vegetarians and should comprise a large portion of your diet. I eat salads with non fat dressing at least two to three times a week and I incorporate vegetables into everything.

Get the Woman you Want

by Loreal

You are probably reading this, because you are single and would like that to change, as such I wanted to share my personal thoughts on this matter.  Keeping a positive attitude is important to meeting & getting the woman/women you want, but also keep the following things in mind.

  1. Remember you are in the minority or in other words there are fewer males than females
  2. Do the things you like to start, but maybe in a club or a group you haven’t frequented in the past. Groups are great for meeting people and you are guaranteed to have common interests, which is essential.
  3. Try new things that have interested you. Perhaps take a cooking or painting class.
  4. If you go somewhere and see someone more than once that interests you arrange a next meeting. This is probably the most important
  5. Stay true to yourself and don’t become something you’re not, since you won’t be happy long term and you’ll end up resenting the person you end up with Read the rest of this entry »

Girl’s Guide to Car and Home Repairs

by Loreal

My Girl’s Guide to Car and Home Repair is based on several personal experiences where repair men attempt to take advantage of me, since I’m a woman.  Read on and be sure to add your feedback, comments or suggestions.

Rule one is to have some basic knowledge on these things, so for starters most new cars today need oil changes less frequently than before. For example, did you know that newer Honda Civics only require a change approximately every 8000 miles, if in doubt you can consult your owner’s manual.

Personal Safety Tips

by Loreal

I want to give a brief history as to why I wrote this specific piece on personal safety tips.  My husband I went to a local downtown Sacramento residential neighborhood, around 8 p.m. tonight and the following events transpired after we stopped the car.  My husband exited the passenger side only to be approached by a middle age, medium build male; almost immediately thereafter two other men of the same age and size joined the first.  They grabbed him and started throwing punches, but luckily he was not hurt.  All that said, that is why I decided to give you some advice on this matter.

Meet Mr. Right

by Loreal

I know there are many of you who are wondering when, will I ever meet Mr. Right?  So I thought I’d share my personal experience with you. It’s my personal opinion that you must first become Ms. Right, before you truly become attractive to any potential suitors. Simply put become the type of person that you would also want to be and be positive, since no one likes downers.

It is also important that you make a physical list of things you want in a partner and then categorize these by level of need or want. For example, if you want a doctor then list it. If you want an Asian or black man, then add that. Don’t forget personality traits, social circles, personality, sexual charisma, authenticity and anything else that you may require, want or just would like to have. Be sure to address your position on having kids, since not everyone wants to have them. Keep your list tucked away and then compare your suitors to this list.

Next, you will need to put yourself in situations to meet people (men or women).
Start with religious or professional organizations, mix in special interest groups like those for pet owners and don’t forget places you go to on a regular basis, like the grocery store, gym, etc. Casually talk to as many people as possible, even if you don’t know them directly. Also, let anyone that you’re close to that you are looking to meet someone. Moreover, don’t be afraid to go out by yourself; going solo sometimes can make you more approachable.

Now for the record, I met my Mr. Right over twelve years ago and I too had a list. We met at Lumberjack and we were married nine months after that.  Please let me know if you have any questions regarding this post or if there’s a certain subject that you’d like highlighted and I’ll do the research and post it to http://help.loreals.com

Cauliflower Casserole

by Loreal

I absolutely love casseroles, because they are so quick and easy, plus you can do other things, since you don’t need to attend to them constantly, like other dishes, plus you can make this the night before and refrigerate overnight.

Also this recipe makes enough for two dishes, so you can even freeze the second for later.
